We have an extensive database of candidates we speak to regularly. Most are settled in their current position but even at this stage we believe we can add value to their career development. We like to build a working relationship with you from the outset and offer unlimited advice as often as required. This is not to contact you with inappropriate positions but rather to ascertain your situation and assess whether there might be anything that would be of interest to you. We can contact you as often or as little as you like in whatever means of communication you prefer – we advise every three months to ensure you are kept updated with any movement in the market and to ensure we are kept updated with your situation.
As part of our commitment to candidates and to ensure regular contact, we have our monthly vacancy list whereby you receive updates via email of all the firms recruiting in your particular discipline. Unlike other recruitment firms, we do not require your CV to do this and we will not just send you opportunities without naming the firms. We will send you the names of the firms currently recruiting with as much information as possible on the position.
To help ensure you know what you are worth, we will email you updated salary surveys and where possible we include specific firms. This will give you a good overview of what the salaries are like at your level at other firms and if you are considering a move to a provincial practice, an indication of the pay levels in a specific geographical region.
See Beckett Quick Check for all the information you need when drafting your CV. We are always happy to put your CV into a professional format for you however, the ‘CV Drafting’ PDF has lots of useful hints which will help you and a draft CV that will make the task less time consuming.
This is our service for candidates who want to know exactly what opportunities are available however, are not actively in the market. We confirm a list of firms with you and then speak to our developed contacts, discreetly identifying opportunities tailored to you and your situation (strictly on a confidential basis). It enables you complete control because we make initial enquiries and you can decide how to move forward with this information in mind. You have the luxury of anonymity to investigate the market and ascertain if there is more suitable position available. We send you a regular ‘Progress Report’ to let you know exactly who we have spoken with, what the outcome was and what needs to be done next. At the end of this exercise we have a definitive list of exactly what firms are currently recruiting, actively or speculatively, and what firms are planning to expand in the future. This information truly serves you as a candidate and aids your career development invaluably by giving you a current and specific insight into the market

After each interview we discuss your initial thoughts and how you would like to progress. We go back to the firm as soon as possible to ensure both candidate and client know exactly what the situation is from either side. This ensures the process is kept as stress free and efficient as possible.
We negotiate the best possible package and salary with the potential firm for you. We then discuss all the offers received in detail at your convenience (weekends/evenings allow for time to go into the detail deserved). We will not try to influence your decision with regards to the offer rather, act as a confidante and an impartial advisor who presents the facts to you and adds value to your thoughts and opinions.
We help take the stress out of resignation by discussing the process at length to make you feel as prepared and assured as possible. Please see ‘The Offer’ under Beckett Quick Check for a comprehensive guide to the stages of an offer and resignation, including a draft resignation letter.
